Accreditation Services

The Council on Resuscitation After Cardiac Procedures is the accrediting body that oversees centers who train for cardiac arrest after cardiac procedures such as cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterization. We offer comprehensive accreditation services to ensure that these centers meet our high standards for quality care and patient safety. Our team of experts will work with you to identify areas for improvement and provide guidance to help you achieve accreditation. We are committed to supporting the highest level of care for patients undergoing cardiac procedures.

To become an accredited center, centers must:

1. Maintain an affiliation agreement with recognized providers of this education (for a list click HERE)

2. Maintain Certified Trainers

3. Deliver at least 2 courses per year (CSU-ALS/ CALS or CLEAR/ REACT) - must be 2 from a single course to qualify

4. Complete and pass your audits.

5. Undergo a review of attendee course assessments and knowledge assessments as part of your audit

1.  Affiliation Agreement:

To ensure universality on this training, centers must agree to deliver this course to a standard and to be subject to a review of their compliance with this annually.  This agreement also ensures that the intellectually property of the recognized providers of this education is maintained.  Sample agreements may be viewed HERE.  Expiration or non-renewal of the affiliation agreement will result in loss of accreditation.  An appeal process is in place should there be mitigating circumstances for loss of accreditation.

2.  Maintain Certified Trainers:

Certified Trainers must participate in 2 courses per year and complete e-learning every 2 years.  They must also teach at an accredited, affiliated center.

3.  Deliver 2 Courses Per Year:

For centers to maintain accreditation, they must deliver 2 courses per year and provide documentation of these courses as part of their annual review.

4.  Complete and pass audits.

The audit consists of annual documentation of certified trainers and courses taught.  6 months after initiation of training and then biennially thereafter.  Audits will consist of submitting recordings of complete courses to CRCP for review.

5.  Attendee Course Assessments / Knowledge Assessments

Attendees will be required to complete course feedback surveys as part of the CME/ CEU accreditation of these courses.  In addition, they will have a pre and post course knowledge assessment independent of the center.  Feedback on performance of the center as well as performance of attendees on the post course knowledge assessment are important metrics in the accreditation process.
